Objective.
To create a robot capable of becoming integrated into environments that are not specially adapted, are continuously changing and with a significant human presence.
Results.
Development of a mobile, autonomous and ´multifunctional´ service robot that has basic “intelligent” abilities especially focused on assistance activities in indoor environments.
In this case, IK4-TEKNIKER has developed a mobile, autonomous and ´multifunctional´ service robot that has basic “intelligent” abilities especially focused on assistance activities in indoor environments (e.g. homes, residencies, hospitals, museums, offices, work places, etc.).
Autonomous navigation provides this robot with the ability to move through complex environments, occupied by people, planning and performing trajectories, avoiding obstacle and integrating mechanisms for recovery when complex situations arise.
The robot is designed to interact with people, by the merging of different sources of information from sensors, but its systems are especially designed to guarantee safety. This is a critical aspect in service robotics because robots have to move about in environments where there are people and safely interact with them.
